The SOMS (Spin-On Microfilter System) engine oil filter uses a patented
hybrid technology that combines an advanced microfilter with a
conventional filter in a spin-on canister. This technology enables the SOMS
Filter to capture particles most responsible for engine wear and friction. The
SOMS Filter extends the oil drain interval up to 30,000 miles, lowering
operating costs, providing superior engine protection and reducing
environmental impacts. These outstanding benefits cannot be achieved with
conventional filters. The design meets all engine specifications and installs
in minutes - just like a conventional filter.

Engine oil and oil filters in internal combustion engines (such as for
automobiles) must be changed as the oil becomes contaminated by small
particles during use. Conventional filters are inefficient and do not capture
these small particles. This directly contributes to engine wear and reduced
efficiency, increasing maintenance costs and oil consumption.

Engine oil can be used longer. However, the oil and filter must be changed
because conventional oil filters do an inefficient job of capturing small
particles.
